Facilities Manager

Bio:I will achieve more successful 1:1s and adjust a better schedule for office hours. I also want to help revamp our workshift system. Long term goal I would love for HI to no longer be necessary because everyone is so cooperative. I also plan to start a D&D group this fall at Cloyne. I’ve done it in the past and it’s always a blast. I also want to be on top of central maintenance to fix our leaky basement among other concerns.

Board Rep
The Board of Directors of the BSC is comprised of members elected by their unit and is responsible for overseeing the running of the BSC, the selection of Central Level Management, and the setting of all administrative, personnel, and operating policies. The Board has ultimate authority over all aspects of the BSC. Directors are legally bound to act in the best interest of the BSC as a whole, not those of their units.

Bio: Hey everyone! My name is Maricruz and I’m excited to be more involved in co-op politics. I hope to help Cloyne be more in touch with what happens in Central and help make Cloyne a better place. Community
The Community Coordinator is responsible for some operational duties similar to the house coordinator, but is additionally more focused on community building around the substance free theme. This position requires initiative and focus around the house’s theme programming, and the Community Coordinator will oversee other Cloyne house-level coordinators who are responsible for inclusive culture and theme success. Although all members of Cloyne are expected to enforce substance-free policies, the Community Coordinator is particularly responsible for enforcement and mediation of member conflict. This position must be held by only one member.

I’ve lived at cloyne since my freshman year in Fall 2020, and I’m sad but excited to be entering my final year here as the Community Coord. My big goals this semester are to restructure Core Values and make fun and accessibility community events!
Finance
The Finance Coordinator will help reduce overspending by:
- Increase transparency about spending within the house.
- Look at the monthly HABR and report spending to coordinators.
- Advocate for cooperative wellbeing when finances are/will be overdrawn by other coordinators.
The Finance Coordinator will do this by:
- Attending coordinator meetings and informing coordinators of where their spending is, whether they are under or over budget.
- If a department is over budget, the coordinator will contact the House Manager, House Presidents, and relevant coordinator to inform them of the overage.
- Attend coordinator training (especially finance).
Food
The Food Coordinators are primarily responsible for ensuring that enough food is available for all members, and that food storage areas remain habitable, and the food is safe and accessible.

The House Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Cloyne Court, enforcing house and central level policies, and addressing issues as they arise throughout the term. House Coordinators are additionally responsible for representing Cloyne internally and externally, overseeing house finances in conjunction with the Facilities Coordinator, orienting new members to house policies, ensuring smooth semester transitions, and mediating member conflicts. Maintenance
Maintenance Coordinators are responsible for maintaining Cloyne in habitable condition. They may appoint and oversee a maintenance crew. Also, in conjunction with the Facilities Coordinators, allocate Habitability Improvement (HI) hours. The Maintenance Coordinator(s) will coordinate with Central Maintenance, outside contractors hired by Central, and other coordinators and officials as necessary in the process of maintaining the house.

Dungeon
The Dungeon Master oversees the John’s Room (or HackerSpace), gym, music room, and dark room. They oversee these spaces, keeping everything organized, habitable, and keeping members knowledgeable about available resources in the basement.

I’m Talyssa and I’ll be your Dungeon Master (muahaha) this semester :) I’m a senior studying chemical engineering (cri) and I enjoy going to farmers markets, thrifting, and honestly just spending money on things I don’t need.. Network
The network coordinator acts as a steward of Cloyne’s digital resources, is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of the house’s internet (both ethernet and wi-fi), and coordinating with the software coordinators to ensure the function of Cloyne’s servers. They are also responsible for educating others about projects and issues regarding Cloyne’s computers and networks.

Software
The software coordinator is primarily responsible for Cloyne’s servers. They maintain and update the software that runs Cloyne’s web services, including the blog, mailing lists, chat server, and file server. They work closely with the network to ensure that these resources are accessible to the house at large, both in use and development.

The Workshift Coordinators are responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness and efficient functioning of the unit, and in conjunction with the Kitchen and Maintenance Coordinators , maintains the overall habitability of the unit. I’m Maïssa, and I’m excited to take on the role of Co-Workshift Coordinator. My goal is to make sure our house runs smoothly by coordinating workshifts and keeping our shared spaces organized. When I’m not busy with life, you’ll often find me exploring my interests. I like to say my hobbies is collecting hobbies. I love art, anything creative or that requires my hand. I am currently into skateboarding, photography, and I’ve recently taken up DJing. Worm
This position must be held by 2 members. The WRMs are responsible for minimizing the house’s waste, making sure waste is allocated correctly, and informing house members on waste reducing practices. They can appoint and oversee a WRM crew to which they can allocate 10 hours of workshift credit. Waste includes landfill-destined items, recyclables, compostable items (city and garden), energy, water, reusable materials and electronic waste (e-waste).
